Marta Pelegrin has been an immense asset to Pleasanton RAGE’s USLw team this season and has proved her talent through her incredible goals, plays, and leadership on the field. I had the chance to talk with the RAGE center forward recently, learning more about her life and as a player.
“How did you get into soccer?”
Marta explained that she grew up in Spain and that in her school a coach showed her how to play soccer and then offered her a spot at a club, kickstarting her love for the sport and her career.
“What have been some of your favorite moments from this season?”
Marta stated her favorite moment was winning the first game of the season at home vs. Academia on June 13, 2024. During that game, she scored 2 goals and the team won 4-0.
Marta played in a 7v7 tournament called TST 7v7. Different teams compete in 7v7 games for a big cash prize. She played for Tampa Bay Sun FC.
“What was playing on TST 7v7 like?”
Marta expressed that playing in TST 7v7 was an incredible and life-changing experience and that every moment of it was enjoyable. She stated that every moment from the beginning of her time playing to the end was fun, regardless of win or loss.
“What is your life like aside from playing soccer?”
Marta says she loves playing many sports, such as pickleball in her free time. She also works as a data analyst. She explained that she would receive data from sports like soccer, analyze and post it.
“What has been playing at RAGE been like and what do you enjoy most about the team?”
Marta expressed that the team is like a family and there is a very strong sense of community. She said since her start of playing for RAGE she has felt welcomed and that the team provides positivity.
Marta has been a key player in RAGE’s success this season and her leadership, passion, and talent make her an incredible role model and entertaining to watch on the field.
